HTML & CSS Essentials is a part-time certificate program designed to give students a solid foundation in the principles of web development.
This program is taught over 5 weeks in the evenings, and is designed to teach students about the fundamental building blocks of modern websites.
HTML & CSS Essentials is a 30-hour part-time program designed to provide students an introduction to the basic skills and software used by front-end web developers, with a specific focus on HTML5 and CSS3. You will learn the necessary skills required to build your first mobile-first, responsive website from scratch.
This program is designed to be a light introduction to professional web development. At the end of 5 weeks, you will have foundational knowledge in basic front-end web development, including HTML5, CSS3, Git, and responsive web design.

Curriculum
HTML5
Master the web’s markup language and craft well-structured, semantic HTML.
CSS3
Develop mobile-first responsive web experiences for users, and add interactivity with CSS3.
Responsive Web Design
Create website designs that are optimized for all screen sizes including mobile, tablet, and desktop.
Git and GitHub
Master version control using Git and open-source your code on GitHub.Git and GitHub
During my research on other schools, RED definitely came out on top. I love the RED environment, teaching style, and having such a great support system from others.
Learning the foundational skills of HTML and CSS was awesome, I learned a lot and it provided me enough information to ready myself to learn more in the field. David has been working as a web developer for over 20 years and literally helped build the Internet as we know it. He has been on the bleeding edge of web technologies since 1996 and continues to drive forward with the “new hotness” in web development with Node, GraphQL, React, and React Native. In addition to being a web development pioneer, David is also a long-time teacher, a successful professional musician, and a soon-to-be father of four.
